A career between research, teaching and clinical practice
Graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, where he also completed his residency in Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Prof. Cerciello obtained a PhD and, in 2018, the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor. Since 2024 he holds the position of Associate Professor at Saint Camillus International University in Rome.
His training path has taken him through leading European and US centres: Lyon (Hôpital de la Croix-Rousse), Marseille (Sainte Marguerite), Leuven, Munich (OCM), Boston (MGH), the University of Texas, San Antonio and Connecticut.

Scientific activity
Research lines focus on prosthetic surgery of the knee, shoulder and hip — with particular attention to robotic-assisted techniques and fast-track recovery protocols — arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, rotator cuff repair and sports traumatology.
